Hate the Hamptons? Head to southwest Rhode Island instead. If you are in need of the perfect East Coast getaway, Watch Hills, Rhode Island is the place for you! The picturesque coastal village is home to gorgeous beaches, charming restaurants, and a slew of great hotels that are completely unpretentious and family-friendly! If you and your partner are hanging out in town, be sure to check out the Ocean House’s Secret Champagne Garden before it closes for the season in early October. Just be sure to bring a mask and maybe a coat for the outdoor seating!
Sonoma, California
Wine-Lovers and aficionados in search of a last minute Labor Day vacation should head to Northern California to the Sonoma Wine Country. Beginners will be comfortable on the Rio Grande Trail, which starts behind the post office on Puppy Smith Road and follows a paved path most of the way along the Roaring Fork River. An intermediate option is a 1.5-mile trek up Smuggler Mountain Trail, leading to a lookout point with stunning views of Aspen below. Those ready for a challenge can take on the rigorous 8.5-mile excursion up to secluded Conundrum Hot Springs! Adventure definitely awaits here!
